On Sunday March 3, St. Demetrius parish commemorated the life of poet Taras Shevchenko with a moving concert of songs, poems, and recitations.  Members of the U.O.C. of St. Demetrius Choir performed under the hands of Victor Kowalenko and Nestor Olynyk.  Nestor Olynyk's composition to the words of Taras Shevchenko's poem "Selo" was accompanied by Natalka Sandul.   The St. Demetrius school of Bandura performed under the direction of Ron Demeda.  Various solos, duets of Taras Shevchenko's poems were recited and performed by the children and adults of the parish.  Dmytro Khachula served as Master of Ceremonies for the concert.  Thanks to all who attended, participated, and planned the event.
