Each June, the St. Demetrius Bandura School celebrates with a year-end recital. Invited are parents, grandparents, friends, alumnae and their parents.
This year we were delighted with our full house.
The audience was first treated to several group numbers - pieces that all the students love to play! Then the solos started; each student had chosen a piece to learn, be it rock, pop, classical or Ukrainian. The instructor, Ron Demeda, took the time to explain the techniques needed and mastered by the student for the performance of each piece. Congratulations to every student on a successful and productive year!
Refreshments followed, there were lots of smiles, thank you's and cries of "have a great summer".
Thanks to the instructors Ron Demeda and Christina Kowalenko, and to the group coodinator Natalka Olynyk-Kowalenko for a great year!
