Pavlo Hunka, renowned bass-baritone and artistic director of the Ukrainian Art Song Project visited our parish on Sunday, June 23, 2013. He captivated parishioners with his reading of the Апостол (Epistle) and the spiritually beautiful singing of Отче Наш (Our Father) and Вірую (The Creed). Pavlo joined us at our weekly fellowship lunch where his passion for Ukrainian Art Songs was evident as he explained the history of these classical compositions. This purpose of his trip to Toronto was to finalize the recording of the first set of the Galician (Галицькі) Art Songs. (see uasp.ca for more details). He has returned to his home in England but his presence at our church will linger for a long time.
